2009 Student Design Competition Set for July 11
It's time once again to prepare for SAIFD's 2009 Student Design Competition! Information in the forms below have been updated, so please take the time to read through them carefully and thoroughly.

The competition will take place on Saturday, July 11 with the mandatory prep meeting the evening of Friday, July 10. Competitors will need to be present at the meeting for final instructions prior to the competition. No product will be shown at the prep meeting.
As outlined in the competition rules, the fresh designs follow the basic outlines se at the 2008 Symposium. Categories are similar with some simple changes.
Once again, all product for the dried portion of the competition will be supplied by Knud Nielsen and the design will be completed on site. No props are allowed other than the materials supplied to you. All students competing are required to complete this portion of the competition. Points for this portion will be factored as part of the Designer of the Year.
The SAIFD Design Competition registration form is to be completed for each student competing. Please return all registration forms in one packet to Scott A. Awad AIFD, sending fee for competition and symposium registration fee directly to National Headquarters.
PEOPLE'S CHOICE - Due to limited space at the hotel, one category chosen by the competition committee will be displayed. Only this piece will be eligible for votes in the People's Choice portion of the competition.
We hope this year's competition will be a fulfilling learning experience for each student competing. Suggestions you have made have resulted in changes we have this year. Thank you for your input and the commitment you have to these students and the future of AIFD.

Please note: The deadline for registration is May 15, 2009.

- TOOL BOX - Students will be allowed to bring only the following items in a tool box into the design room:
- Extension cord (cord must be at leas 15' long)
- Floral knife
- Glue Pan, and appropriate glue
- Pruners
- Ribbon Shears
- Wire Cutter
- 12" Ruler
NO PROPS NEEDED! Do not bring anything other than what is outlined on this list! You will have a 30" round table to display all fresh designs on for public viewing - NOT for judging. You will have a white napkin for display as well as a white table linen for the 30" round display table. All decorative and non-decorative wires and disc supplies will be provided to you with your flowers.
