Participating in the Professional Floral Design Evaluation (PFDE) is an exciting and meaningful milestone in your floral design career. This prestigious process allows you to demonstrate your artistry, technical skill, and commitment to the highest standards of floral excellence — qualities that define the AIFD® community.

The 2026 PFDE session offers an incredible opportunity to advance your professional journey and join an elite network of floral designers who share your passion for creativity, education, and innovation.

Below you’ll find helpful information and key details to secure your place in the 2026 PFDE Session and take the next step toward earning your AIFD® designation.

For current CFD Members:
(If you have attained your CFD® through an AIFD® Education Partner or have participated in a previous PFDE session earning your CFD® membership.)

If you are a current CFD® member you need only click on the link below to register through the official Symposium registration site. There is nothing further you need to do prior to completing your registration.

Non-Members:
(If you have never participated in a previous PFDE session OR participated, but did not achieve a score high enough to attain the CFD® designation)

For those who are not current CFD® members, you must first take and pass the on-line portion of the examination.

PFDE Candidates may elect to register for the PFDE session prior to taking the on-line test however cancellation fees will apply should you decide or are unable to proceed to the hands-on portion of the PFDE process.

You must complete and pass your written on-line exam prior to April 15, 2026.

Details to know before you register:

• You must be a current CFD member OR have passed the online written exam before you can participate in the PFDE hands-on session.
• PFDE session spaces are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Your position is confirmed only after registration and payment method are completed.
• Due to limited space, cancellation fees apply to all PFDE registration cancellations. *See the cancellation policy below for more information.
• Know in advance the type of registration you wish to select. *See registration options below
• Once you have selected your registration and optional items (if available) you will have the option to pay for your registration in full or select to make convenient monthly payments.

Wednesday, April 15, 2026 – Hands-on written exam must be successfully completed.

Wednesday, April 15, 2026 – 11:59 PM ET– PFDE Session Registration Deadline

IMPORTANT: Space is limited to 90 Candidates and registration may close early if a sell-out happens prior to April 15.

• In the event that PFDE registration reaches capacity, a wait list will be established.
• Candidates will be placed on the wait list in the order in which they are received. No preferential consideration will be given.
• Candidates placed on the wait list will be notified as space becomes available and will have 24 hours to confirm their participation.
• If confirmation is not received within 24 hours, the opportunity will be offered to the next individual on the wait list.

Sunday, June 28, 2026 – Candidates should arrive to Orlando on this day.

Monday, June 29, 2026 – Candidate Registration and PFDE Orientation happen on this day.

Tuesday, June 30, 2026 – PFDE Session takes place on this day.

Wednesday, July 1, 2026 – PFDE Preview Reception takes place on this day.

How to Register

• Follow the link to the official Elevate Symposium Registration Site.
• The registration system will require and collect all the necessary information to create your individual PFDE and Symposium registrations.   
• For current CFD® members please enter your exact email and last name that is associated with your membership into the search field. If entered correctly your information will automatically generate in the system.
• For those who are not CFD members you will need start a new registration and be asked to fill out all the required contact information to create your registration profile. Be sure to fill in all required fields before proceeding to the registration selection page.
• !! All PFDE Candidates MUST select 2026 PFDE Candidate under the AIFD Affiliation question on the Attendee Information page to proceed to PFDE registration options. If you arrive to the registration selection page and do not see the two PFDE registration options you did not complete this step.

Registration Details

PFDE Candidates will have two (2) registration options available.

PFDE Only 

• With a PFDE Only registration you are registering for the PFDE Session ONLY. It does NOT include access to the Elevate Symposium or any of its activities.
•  Workshops being held during the Elevate Symposium are not available with a PFDE Only registration.
• If you select the PFDE Only option and later decide to add a Symposium Registration you will need to contact the AIFD office for assistance in changing your registration.
• Prior to April 15, 2026, Candidates may request to change their registration from a PFDE Only to a PFDE with General Symposiumregistration type without penalty.
• After April 15, 2026, Candidates will be required to purchase a separate Symposium registration at the current listed rate if they choose to attend the Symposium and its activities.

PFDE with General Symposium

• With the PFDE with General Symposium registration you will reserve your position for the PFDE Session AND receive a General registration for the Elevate Symposium.
• With the PFDE with General Symposium registration you will be able to purchase tickets to any of the scheduled workshops and meal functions.

NOTE: Registration badges are colored coded to permit access to activities associated to the specific registration purchased and will be checked by security for access.

Once you have completed your registration you will be sent an email confirmation which will be sent through the official Elevate Symposium Registration Site. If you do not receive the confirmation within 24 hours, please check your junk or spam folders before reaching out to the AIFD office for more information.

Please keep your email confirmation! Your confirmation letter contains your password and log in details for your registration profile. Should you need to review or update your registration or need a receipt for your registration purchase you will access those details via the information provided in your confirmation.

Registration for the 2026 PFDE Session will close on April 15, 2026, or after the 90 available seats have been sold. Whichever happens first.

PFDE Registration FAQ’s

Why am I not seeing the PFDE registration selections?

• You must select the 2026 PFDE Candidate under the required AIFD Affiliation question.

May I purchase workshops if I have selected a PFDE Only registration?

• No. Additional workshops and events will not be an option with a PFDE Only Registration.
• Those selecting the PFDE Only Registration will not have access to any of the educational events, Industry Showcase, optional workshops or meal functions and receptions.
• If you wish to participate in any of the amazing educational offerings happening during the Elevate Symposium you will need to select the PFDE with General Symposium option.
• Because the PFDE with General Symposiumis already such a great value, Day Pass registrations are NOT available for those selecting the PFDE Only option.
• Your badge will be color coded allowing you access to either the PFDE Only or to the PFDE with General Symposium.

How do I pay for the registration?

• Once you have selected your registration and optional items (if available) you will have the option to pay for your registration in full or select to make convenient monthly payments.
• All payments and Symposium registrations are made through the official Elevate Symposium Registration Site, not the AIFD® website.
• Credit card is the accepted method of payment.

What happens if I need to cancel my registration?

Significant planning and coordination are required to ensure a successful PFDE Session. In the event that you must cancel your registration, the following cancellation fees will apply to all PFDE registrations without exception.

• Cancellation prior to April 15, 2026 – a $250.00 cancellation fee applies.
• Cancellation requests between April 16 and May 15, 2026 – a $500.00 cancellation fee applies
• Cancellations requests after 5:00pm on May 15, 2026 – Candidate will forfeit the full registration. Registrations fees are NOT transferable to a future PFDE session.

Visa Guidelines

We want to ensure that you have the best and most up to date information to help you prepare to travel to the Symposium. Wait times may vary based on many factors, so we strongly recommend that you begin this application process as early as possible to avoid delays which could impact registration opportunities and cause cancellation fees.

Attending a professional event like the AIFD® Symposium, is a recognized activity under the B-1 or B-2 Visa Category.

If you are an attendee and plan to participate in the 2026 PFDE Session and you need a letter of invitation please contact info@aifd.org. Letters may take up to five (5) business day to complete.
