AIFD Symposium Coronavirus Update

There is nothing more important to us than the health and well-being of our conference attendees.  With the information that we currently have regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), AIFD’s Symposium “Vision” is currently proceeding as planned.

AIFD® is taking precautions to ensure the health of all conference participants and will follow the latest guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), along with the Illinois Department of Public Health. AIFD® will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates and contingency plans under the guidance of the WHO and CDC.

As we move toward our conference dates in July, we encourage you to become familiar with the safety precautions we will be implementing onsite, which include:

• Wash your hands for 20 seconds and use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
• When coughing and sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – discard tissue immediately into a closed bin.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
• AIFD’s Symposium will be implementing a “no handshake” policy.
• Stay home or remain in your hotel room if you begin to feel unwell.

In addition to the Hilton Chicago sanitizing the public spaces more frequently and even deeper cleaning of guest rooms, the hotel will also have hand sanitizers located throughout the meeting space. We strongly encourage attendees to wash their hands throughout the day.
